DirectPop is a "dual client" designed to relay messages from a mailbox on a POP3 or Hotmail® server to an MSN® Direct watch using the MSN® Messenger Service. The application looks for messages destined for an MSN® Direct watch in the configured e-mail inbox at an interval you specify. These messages are identified by a set of custom rules you define, allowing you to forward only the messages you wish to have forwarded. Messages are sent using the currently available mobile paging functionality available in the latest version of MSN® Messenger. The MSN® Messenger client need not be installed for the program to operate, although it may be useful for troubleshooting and initial account configuration. DirectPop makes it possible for individuals without access to MSN® Messenger, such as those using non-Windows® operating systems, behind corporate firewalls, etc., to take advantage of the messaging features available with MSN® Direct.
